Michael had happened to hear about an open mic night I was running in Ashford and decided to attend one night. He approached with guitar in hand and introduced himself then asked if he could play a few songs. I said of course and then immediately fell in love with his music as he began to sing his own brand of story telling mixed with strange and often surreal folk.
I made a promise to myself to talk to him about his music straight after his show and decided to quickly refresh my drink as Michael finished another song. To my horror upon returning to the stage his seat was empty and the bar staff said that Michael had just happily walked out the front door. I knew this might be the only chance to talk to him so ran in the direction I thought he might have been travelling, luckily within 3 minutes I saw him again and pounced on he and his friend at their car, both giving them quite a fright, in a dark, in a car park, close to midnight. I asked Michael if he would like to come back and sing again and that maybe I could film his set.
Since then we have been recording songs as quick as Michael can write them and he shows no signs of stopping. In recent months I have heard his best and hope to upload them soon, these first uploads are the first of many and there are even better still to come.
